Dr Karny Ilan, CEO & Co-Founder of Feminai

Dr Karny Ilan is a general surgeon, entrepreneur, and the CEO & Co-Founder of Feminai, a women’s health startup developing an AI-powered wearable platform for accessible at-home breast health assessment. Driven by her clinical experience and firsthand understanding of the barriers women face in breast cancer screening, Karny co-founded Feminai to help make breast health monitoring more accessible, comfortable, and proactive. Under her leadership, Feminai has conducted clinical studies in both Israel and the United States, published early feasibility data, and partnered with leading healthcare organisations and imaging centres to advance the future of remote breast health technologies. Karny has been recognised as part of Forbes Israel 30 Under 30 and has led Feminai through multiple international accelerator and innovation programs focused on digital health and women’s health innovation.

Giulia Toaldo, International Director of Breast Cancer at Novartis

Giulia Toaldo is the International Director of Breast Cancer at Novartis. She has been working in the breast cancer space for almost 10 years now, at Roche, Eli Lilly, and Novartis, both at the local and international levels. Her previous roles have been in brand management, customer insight, and launch lead for new molecules. At the moment, she is working on the commercial strategy for a new indication of Novartis’ brand in Early Breast Cancer for the International markets in Basel, Switzerland. Novartis is a Swiss-based pharma company, among the largest in the world, with oncology as one of its priority disease areas, particularly in breast cancer, prostate cancer and haematology.

Imogen Clarke, Partnerships and Growth Manager at Micrima

Imogen Clarke is the Partnerships and Growth Manager at Micrima, a company that has developed an innovative breast density measure, championing preventative health and education around hidden risk factors. She has worked across the women’s health sector since studying the effects of stigma and taboo on women’s health-seeking behaviours, becoming a strong advocate for health equity and closing the gender health gap. With a background leading sales for a global women’s health conference and start-up accelerator programmes, Imogen is dedicated to fostering greater connectivity between key players globally, ensuring more funding is directed towards female-focused health innovation. Micrima are a UK-based medical device company that has developed Mi~Scan® & Mi~Score®, a new breast tissue analysis method that quickly and safely produces breast density data, enabling personalised breast cancer risk assessment for all women. Mi~Scan® uses non-ionising waves and no compression to produce an industry-standard BI-RADS breast density classification. This density data is integrated with our Mi~Score® software for an accurate breast cancer risk calculation. Women can then use their results to inform conversations with their doctors and to monitor changes in their breasts over time. 

Marzia Zambon, Executive Director, Europa Donna - The European Breast Cancer Coalition 

Marzia Zambon joined EUROPA DONNA in 2020 as External Affairs Director and later assumed the role of Executive Director. A lawyer with 25 years of experience, she has also worked in bilingual legal training in the UK and Ireland. Today, she applies her advocacy skills to support the breast cancer community across Europe. EUROPA DONNA – The European Breast Cancer Coalition is an independent, non-profit organisation representing affiliated groups from across Europe. Europa Donna works to raise public awareness of breast cancer and to mobilise women in Europe to advocate for: improved breast cancer education, appropriate screening, optimal treatment and care, and increased funding for research. As Executive Director, Marzia oversees Europa Donna’s educational programs and conferences, leads Europa Donna’s involvement in research projects and represents the organisation in the Transforming Breast Cancer Together initiative. She also participates in joint group projects with the European Commission, DG Santé, and Members of the European Parliament. She is responsible for implementing the ECIBC Guidelines and Quality Assurance Scheme across European countries. Following a survey conducted among Europa Donna’s 47 member organisations (27 of which are in EU member states), the coalition is currently assessing the state of breast cancer services in Europe from the patients’ perspective.
