FemTech Spain publishes its second annual Industry Report, in partnership with Ship2B Ventures
FemTech Spain has published its second annual Industry Report, in partnership with Ship2B Ventures.
It's a picture of a sector in two directions at once. Public money has finally arrived — Spain has named women's health as a national research priority and put state R&D funding behind it. New companies keep launching, and the map is widening well beyond reproductive health.
And in the same year, one of the country's most established femtech companies closed, founders lowered valuations to get institutional money through the door, and research is still being funded without disaggregating by sex.
That contradiction — real momentum, and founders still struggling to raise — will be familiar to a lot of you, wherever you're building. The report is an honest read on why it happens, and what has to be built for it to stop.
