Bloume Health Launches UK's First Integrated Digital Pelvic Pain Clinic, Led by World's First Vulvodynia PhD
The new service combines psychosexual therapy, gynaecology, structured support groups and self-guided digital care under one clinic.
Bloume Health, the UK-based women's health company, is launching Bloume Clinic, a specialist digital service integrating psychosexual therapy, gynaecology, structured support groups, and self-guided digital care for women with chronic pelvic pain, into a single coordinated model.
Led by founder Dr Claudia Chisari, who completed the world's first PhD focused on vulvodynia at King's College London, the clinic launches with partnerships with world-leading specialists in chronic pelvic pain. This includes Dr Corey R. Babb, a US-based board-certified gynaecologist specialising in female sexual medicine and vulvovaginal disorders. The clinic is designed to treat pelvic pain conditions that include vulvodynia, vaginismus, endometriosis, painful sex, recurrent UTIs, pudendal neuralgia, and pelvic girdle pain.
An estimated 1 in 7 women live with chronic pelvic pain, yet the average time from symptom onset to diagnosis remains close to seven years. Care is typically delivered in silos: a gynaecologist for the medical assessment, a physiotherapist for pelvic floor work, a psychologist for the emotional dimension, with limited coordination between them.
"I know this pattern both as a clinician and as someone living with vulvodynia myself," said Dr Chisari. "Chronic pelvic pain doesn't sit within any single specialism, and the systematic review from my PhD confirmed what patients have always known: biopsychosocial models, the kind that combine medical, psychological and social support, are consistently the most effective way to help women with these complex conditions. That's what Bloume Clinic is built to deliver."
Bloume Health has secured over £215,000 in funding from Innovate UK and angel investors, and was selected for the 2024 Accelerating FemTech programme, an accelerator supporting early-stage women's health companies. The clinic's model has been developed with input from world-leading advisors including Professor Lance McCracken and Professor Rona Moss-Morris.
The clinic launch builds on the success of Bloume's self-guided app, which has been used by women across the UK since 2025. Both the app and the clinic are grounded in Dr Chisari's decade of research on psychological therapy for persistent pelvic pain, including systematic reviews and clinical trials of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for women with vulvodynia.
Patients can start with any of the four services: gynaecology, therapy, support groups, or the app and move between them as their situation changes. Clinicians work together using the same evidence-based approach, which treats pelvic pain as a physical, psychological and social condition rather than just a medical one.
Bloume Clinic operates as a private practice, offering psychosexual therapy at £125 per session, initial gynaecology educational consultations at £250, ongoing support group membership at £39 per month, and app access at £8.99 per month. The service is available to women across the UK and internationally.
The launch positions Bloume Health within a growing category of specialist women's health providers building integrated care models, alongside sexual health, menopause, and fertility platforms.
"Chronic pelvic pain isn't rare, but the care for it is," said Dr Chisari. "It's been failed by both public and private systems. Bloume Clinic is what happens when clinicians who actually specialise in this build the service themselves."
